Applications open 1 October for Returning Volunteers and 21 October for New Volunteers.

Returning volunteers will be emailed their returning volunteer codes so they can apply easily. New volunteers will be able to apply 3 weeks later when the site opens to everyone.

If your details have changed, please email  volunteers@woodfordfolkfestival.com so we can update our mailing list and ensure your codes reach you once the application site opens.

Whenever Woodfordia hires its site out to an external organisation, there is a need for a small crew to support them while they use our site. Sometimes, we also will open our General Store, the Lakeside Café and Lake Gkula BBQ, and of course, the beautiful Lake Gkula itself. 

For this crew, we are looking for people with hospitality skills. The Safe Food Handling Certificate is required for any role that involves food or drink and can be done online for free  here. 

We may also need Lake Crew with current CPR and swim safety qualifications or a knowledge of the lake and our Lake Lore to help educate guests as to how to enjoy the lake safely. 

Applications for WOOSH at Earth Frequency Festival will open early September. Returning volunteers will be given priority when applying.

Applications for the 2026 Small Events Crew are now open. Returning volunteers were emailed their codes to apply easily. If you did not receive your codes, please email  volunteers@woodfordia.com to have them sent to you.

Throughout the year, Woodfordia holds a number of smaller events and gatherings. At these gatherings, we socialise, get some work done and have fun together. In order for them to run smoothly, we are looking for a passionate and dedicated crew of volunteers to assist in all aspects of running these smaller events. In return for this contribution, volunteers will earn a ticket + camping to the Woodford Folk Festival at the end of the year.

We need volunteers who will do reception, work in the bar, do food prep and serving, install décor and venue preparation plus a little clean up at the end (of course). The crew will also assist with the Volunteers Parties at the festival. 

These roles are ideal for people who are local or willing to travel to Woodfordia two weekends of the year and attend the Woodford Folk Festival (being onsite from 26 December to 2 January).

The dates for this year’s small events are:

• Winter Warmer – 29 & 30 August
• Programme Launch – 17 October
• Volunteers Welcome Party – 26 December
• Volunteers Thank You Party – 1 January

If you are keen to join this crew, please keep these dates free. We can’t accept volunteers who are not available for all 4 dates (kitchen crew excepted). 

We are grateful to all the volunteers who helped make The Planting 2026 such a wonderful weekend.

Applications are now closed and will open in February next year for The Planting 2027.

Please note, volunteers are asked to do 12 – 15 hours over the weekend and in return, will receive a full season ticket with camping included. This will allow time for you to join in the community planting working bees, which do not count as hours towards your volunteer commitment.

If you have volunteered previously for any of our events at Woodfordia, you were emailed an invitation with your returning volunteer codes. Please email volunteers@woodfordia.com if you did not receive your codes.

There are monthly working bees taking place on the last Saturday of the month, which we like to call ‘The Weekend’. 

Conservatree, Arteries, the Woodford Warriors and Folk Club, along with the Traditional Music School all take place most months of the year. 

To join the Treehuggers mailing list by emailing treehuggers@woodfordia.com. These folks meet the last Sunday of the month.

We also have some year-round office volunteer opportunities, that involve admin and various other duties. Email your CV to reception@woodfordia.com if you are interested.
