TREE HUGGERS

Held monthly at Woodfordia on the last Sunday of each month, Treehuggers is a community of like-minded volunteers caring for and fostering the natural environment across the site. Come share stories and song around the campfire, laugh till your sides hurt, indulge yourself in the infamous Treehugger morning tea and fill your bucket full of Woodford love as we make Woodfordia (more) beautiful.

Since 1994, over 106,273 trees have been planted at Woodfordia. During The Planting, many trees and other plants go in the ground and Treehuggers care for the plantings year round. Thanks to the Treehuggers efforts, Woodfordia is now a truly special and beautiful place.

Arrive Saturday afternoon and set up camp in time for the fireside session or come early Sunday morning in time for the working bee . Make sure you have good covered shoes, gloves, a hat, sun cream and plenty of water. Please bring something to share for morning tea or a salad to share with lunch- BBQ lunch is supplied (BYO dinner for Saturday night).

What happens during the working bee?

Tree Huggers arrive mostly on Saturday afternoon, set up camp, and prepare for Sunday morning working bee, and in the evening the music begins. BYO singing voices and instrument (no matter how badly you play or sing)

When is the working bee?

The last Sunday of every month except December (no ifs or buts). The working bee schedule is 8.30am – 10.00am and 10.30am – 12.30pm. Treehuggers gather at Festival Hall on site after breakfast at 8.00am and then working bee commences at 8.30am.
