Conservatree is an exciting project aiming to transform Woodfordia into an endemic species arboretum of significance. The concept was launched by Bill Hauritz, Founding Director, and Costa Georgiadis at the 2022-23 Woodford Folk Festival and was formerly launched in May 2023. Over the years, we have planted many trees. Now we are excited about developing and caring for the undergrowth, the diversity of small plants, sedges, shrubs and vines; the bees, butterflies and fireflies; the mammals, reptiles and birds. We are creating a thriving community of people who love Woodfordia, who have their heart in the soil, and who want to be more connected throughout the year. We’d love you to be part of the fun. Conservatree offers the opportunity to come together on the last Saturday of every month (except December) to enhance our community and our connection to this beautiful land. We all have much to learn about our native flora and fauna. We hope the Conservatree will attract people interested in learning and having fun at the same time.

If you would like to learn more about the work we have already done with Tree Ferns, Bush Foods, Cycads, Staghorns, Native Grasses, Native Palms, Weeding and Watering, or areas of significance on the site such as the longer-term Sacred Forest project, reinvigoration of the area known as Sleepy Hollow, or the care of our beautiful Lake Gkula, please contact us so we can add you to the mailing list: or come along on the last Saturday of the month to join the fun.
