Fancy working off all that working from home snacking? Just 10–minutes–drive from Woodfordia is a 5km scenic bike loop that starts in Wamuran. Those who like a challenge can extend the ride all the way to the Glass House Mountains, which is around a 20km ride. It’s quite flat until you reach the Fox Mountain.

Take the Blackall Ranges Tourist Drive and enjoy views of beautiful green valleys and the coast sparkling in the distance. Follow the brown “23” Tourist Drive signs and be sure to swing into the delightful little townships of Maleny, Montville and Mapleton along your way. There are plenty of rainforest walks, waterfalls, lookouts, cafés and pubs to explore along this route – or simply cruise and take in the stunning scenery.
AUSTRALIA ZOO
The famous Australia Zoo is only a 30-minute-drive from Woodfordia and is a wonderful trip for youngsters and adults alike. With more than 1,200 animals to meet, you’ll want to make a day of it – catch a croc feeding show, hand-feed kangaroos or pat a koala.
MT BEERWAH SUMMIT WALK
With extensive views of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, the Mt Beerwah Summit walk is sure to take your breath away. Whilst not as difficult as the Mt Tibrogargan climb, this is certainly still a challenging hike and we recommend travelling with a friend and taking the time to adequately prepare.
To get there, from Woodrow Road, turn right on Kilcoy Beerwah Road, left onto Beerburrum Woodford Road and then left onto Old Gympie Road. Next, go left on Mount Beerwah Road and follow this to the Mt Beerwah carpark. Follow the walking track from the carpark to the base of the mountain and you’re off! The first section has a tendency to be quite slippery so please do not attempt this climb if it’s been raining or if rain is expected.
