Born of a love for Mother Earth and all those who roam her, the Woodfordia Apothecary range includes carefully created natural skincare products that are gentle on skin, sea and saplings. We hope you enjoy our offering, also available online at the Emporium of Keepsakes in January 2020.

Woodfordia Apothecary’s fragrant creations are brewed in a laboratory situated on a rescue camel farm in Childers. This same property also houses several beehives. These beehives are the source of the organic beeswax found in Woodfordia Apothecary products. This creates an intrinsic link between the skincare range and nature, because as the wax and honey production slows from the effects of the drought, so does the product output.

The Woodfordia Lovers Blend was created especially to form the aromatic basis of the Woodfordia Apothecary range. With notes of sweet orange, ylang ylang, patchouli, bergamot, jasmine, rose, cardamon and clove bud, Woodfordians are in for a sensory feast. This blend is available in many of the products including the facial moisturiser, and body wash or by itself as a perfume.

Hand Sanitiser

We love our insects but trust that they do not love the smell of our insect repellent. Rub into face and body (avoiding sensitive areas) to keep bug bites away.

Deodorant Balm

Wizard Balm

May assist with muscle relaxation. Apply to affected area 3-4 times a day for best results. Do not use if pregnant, likely to become pregnant of on children under 6 years old. Avoid broken or sensitive skin.

Lemon Myrtle Balm

Laundry Liquid

Use two to three tablespoons of this gentle plant based formulation for clean and fresh laundry. Do not pour directly onto fabric. For new items always check colourfastness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the ingredients come from?

Where possible, Australian grown ingredients are used in the Woodfordia Skincare products, these include; Aloe Vera gel, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, beeswax, Buddha wood oil, chamomile extract, desert lime extract, eucalyptus oil, hemp seed oil, Jojoba oil, Kakadu plum extract, kaolin clay, lavender, lemon myrtle, tea tree, quandong extract and sandalwood oil.

The remaining ingredients are sourced from trusted Australian sellers who bring high quality and products from all over the world, such as fractionated coconut oil from Fiji, grapeseed oil from Italy and clove bud oil from Sri Lanka. All essential oils used are of a high quality and single origin.

Are they okay for sensitive skin and small children?

The Woodfordia Apothecary products contain no harsh or drying chemicals and are consciously made to be gentle enough for sensitive skin and young children.

We recommend at least one patch test before use on the back of the hand if you do have sensitive skin, as well as a careful read of the product ingredients in order to ensure it is right for you. For example for very oily skin, we recommend avoiding products with a high coconut oil content, as this rich oil can contribute to skin breakouts. Additionally the Wizard Oil contains Wintergreen oil which is not recommended for children under six years of age. Always check the product ingredients before application.

Is the Woodfordia Apothecary range vegan?

No, as many of the products contain beeswax. The Woodfordia Apothecary prides itself on its commitment to the environment and all the creatures that inhabit it. We are very conscious of the part that we play and the possible implications of using beeswax in our products. Our bees are lovingly cared for just meters away from the laboratory where their 100% organic beeswax is blended into our skincare products. There are no other animal derived ingredients in the range.

Our manufacturing and testing processes are completely free from animal testing.

Are any of the products gluten or nut free?

We have a number of gluten and nut free products in our range. These include the After Sun Spray, Conditioner and Hand Sanitiser amongst others. Please read the ingredient list carefully if you have allergies.

Please note that all of our products are produced within the same laboratory, as such they are produced alongside products that are not gluten or nut free. Cross contamination of gluten or nut traces cannot be guaranteed.

How can I work out the expiry date of each product?

All Woodfordia Apothecary products have a shelf life of 12 months. Due to the zero or small amounts of preservative used in each product we recommend the product is used within six months of opening.

Are Woodfordia Products safe while breastfeeding?

All Woodfordia Apothecary products aside from the Wizard Balm are formulated to be gentle on adult and child skin and are safe to apply whilst breastfeeding. We do not recommend the Wizard balm for children under six or for breastfeeding parents.

We do not recommend using products on the breast area directly before breastfeeding, this is in order to avoid ingestion of the product by the baby. Our products are not designed to be ingested orally. For any further concerns about using any product during breastfeeding/pregnancy we always recommend consulting with your healthcare professional.

Do you use Palm Oil in your products?

No, the Woodfordia Apothecary range does not contain palm oil.

Is the Woodfordia Apothecary range Halal?

The Woodfordia Apothecary range is not certified Halal, however many products may be halal suitable as most do not contain alcohol and the only animal derived ingredient used is beeswax. Please check the ingredients to ensure the product is right for you.

I have colour treated hair, are the hair care products suitable?

The Woodfordia Apothecary hair range has mild hair cleansing properties. While it has not been formulated specifically for coloured hair, our very own maker and creator has coloured hair and is repeatedly using the products with reportedly excellent results.

Safety and Allergy Guidelines

Woodford Apothecary products contain natural oils and butters from nuts and fruits, please check the ingredients carefully before use to ensure all ingredients are safe for your skin. All products are for external use only. Avoid eyes, broken or irritated skin and sensitive areas.
If you have sensitive skin please patch test on the back of the hand before use. If irritation occurs discontinue use. In the rare event of an adverse reaction or if the product comes into contact with eyes, flush with water and discontinue use immediately. If the irritation persists, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
